BTMS-50 Conditioning Emulsifier, also known as Behentrimonium Methosulfate is a commonly used vegetable derived emulsifier.in hair care products it is often referred to as a "detangler." This product has a distinct odor that can be a surprise if you've never smelled it before. I've found that the odor isn't noticeable in finished products when used at 15% or less.

How to Use it ?

The recommended usage rate is 1 – 12% .A more realistic guideline is usage around 5 to 7% in typical products like hair conditioner. Since this product contains a high percentage of the active conditioning agents it also often incorporated in to leave-on conditioning treatments as well as traditional rinse off hair care.

Should you get it ?

Only if you want to experiment Hair products. but remember it is a bit expensive.

Recommended Starter Amount

I will recommend to start with 50g you will get it for ₹400

Shelf Life

Stored somewhere cool, dark, and dry, It should last more then 3 years.

Refined/Unrefined

it comes only in a refined form.

Alternatives and substitution

Behentrimonium Chloride (BTMC) can be a good alternative; pure BTMC does not contain any stabilizing ingredients so if a recipe calls for 5% BTMS-50 I would recommend using 2.5% each BTMC and cetearyl alcohol. The maxiumum recommended usage rate for BTMC is 3%.
